Southern States recently announced that one of their long-term customers, Salt River Project (SRP), has expanded its use of Southern States’ Capswitcher solution to assist with the growth of their maintenance and operational savings. Salt River Project is a non-profit water and energy company that provides efficient and affordable water and electricity to over 2 million people in the central Arizona area.

The full news release outlines the key variables that went into SRP’s decision to expand it’s Capswitcher solution usage, including the Capswitcher solution’s consistent switching results, cost-efficiency, and reliability. This eliminates the need for inrush current reactors and minimizes both voltage and current transients, which is why SRP is able to use the Capswitcher to expand out of their 69 kilovolt system and still save money.
