Single Side Break Switches

Reliable, Low Operating Effort Disconnect Switches

Southern States’ line of side break substation disconnect switches have served as the backbone for many utility’s systems for decades. These simple, versatile designs, in coordination with our switch accessories, interrupting attachmentsmanual and motor operators, as well as 24/7 after-sales and service support, have provided utilities operational reliability, safety assurance, and application flexibility. As Southern States looks to the future, we continue to build upon our customer first approach, innovative engineering expertise, and quality of product that can remain in service for decades to come.

The SSB-A and SSB-T aluminum and copper side break switches offer a proven track record of reliability. These inherently simplistic designs have long been a staple of the subtransmission and distribution markets, offering utilities ease of installation with a minimal number of parts and adjustment requirements. Both designs are available for horizontal upright, vertical, and underhung mounting applications.
