This intelligent circuit sensor enables smarter fault detection and diagnostics on transmission lines — with zero added footprint.
The Southern States ICS® Intelligent Circuit Sensor brings smart grid functionality to the transmission level by delivering real-time fault detection, line status, and diagnostic insights in environments as demanding as substation yards and high-voltage power lines. Compact and rugged, the ICS® mounts directly to overhead structures and integrates seamlessly with digital relays and RTUs — providing data that was previously inaccessible at this level of the grid.
As the enabling platform for Smart Tap®, ICS® plays a key role in isolating faults, reducing outage areas, and shortening restoration times. Together, they increase system reliability, extend equipment life, and save utilities critical field labor and downtime.
