Five Henry County students were recently awarded the Southern States Engineering, Science, & Arts Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 each. The scholarships were provided by Southern States LLC, located in Hampton.

The scholarships were presented in a brief ceremony at the Henry County School Board meeting on May 13. They were awarded to Courtney Allen from Locust Grove High School, who plans to major in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech; Charlie Campbell from Eagle’s Landing High School, who plans to major in Electrical Engineering at Georgia Tech; Jerry Lin from Union Grove High School, who plans to major in Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech; Zoe McDowell from Union Grove High School, who plans to major in Biology at Tuskegee University or Clark-Atlanta University; and Ebonie Medious from Dutchtown High School, who plans to major in History / International Affairs (Pre-Law) at the University of Georgia.
