UPDATE: January 2021

Southern States continues to work hard to fulfill open orders and deliver critically needed materials.  We recognize the role we play as an essential provider of products and services in maintaining reliability of the electrical grid and by extension, preserving lives.  This is a responsibility we do not take lightly.

Southern States has taken all prudent measures to protect our employees and their families during these extraordinary conditions. We have dispersed salaried workers who can be reasonably effective while working remotely. We have undertaken robust screening activities for all persons who enter the facility. Travel by employees is limited and must be approved by management. We continue to ban non-essential visitors to our facilities. We are engaged in extraordinary cleaning/sterilization of surfaces. Employees practice social distancing to the extent possible.  We are employing the best practices based on the most current information available in order to keep our people safe and our production operating.

Manufacturing and Prioritization of Work

We are operating at close to normal levels. But, Southern States has recently been experiencing periodic, localized, and concentrated increases in absenteeism due to employees quarantining as they await test results from close contact notifications, due to a family member that tested positive, or as a result of testing positive. The impact is less severe than the widespread impact we had experienced in the early stages in April and May, but may cause some delays in shipments.

Customer Service and Technical Support

We continue to offer our 24/7 customer service and technical support by phone. Our field service team is now able to travel, but must receive approval from management before travelling.

Supply Chain Disruptions 

Southern States is vertically integrated to a large extent and maintains stock on many of the component materials. We are in constant communications with our vendors and continue seek every available opportunity to expedite deliveries to meet shipment requirements.

Availability of material has continued to improve but we still are seeing some delays due to the resurgence of COVID-19 in many parts of the country.

Transit Route Disruptions (domestic and international)

We continue to see carriers having issues moving freight because of COVID Issues. Some carriers are closing terminals and most all are experiencing issues due to employee or driver infections. We expect this to continue for the next few months which may affect both incoming material shipments as well as our shipments to customers. We are working closely with multiple carriers to do our best to meet planned ship dates.
