Marketing Specialist

Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist develops and maintains product resources to support the promotion and sale of products across all divisions of Southern States LLC. This position is responsible for a broad range of activities to include, but not limited to, marketing analysis, execution of digital campaigns, website and collateral material development, social media content creation and posting, as well as Salesforce management.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Operating Divisions to develop sales tools and product information to educate both internal and external stakeholders on Southern States product features and their benefits (e.g. sales documentation, sales training materials, product videos, website content, infographics, and other forums) to articulate the benefits of our products.
  • Implement marketing and advertising campaigns with each product division; preparing marketing and advertising strategies, value propositions, objectives, planning, organizing, implementing and measuring the effectiveness of the campaign.
  • Responsible for social media content development and posting across different platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).
  • Maintain and promote the Salesforce CRM within the company. This will include education and training on use of the CRM, assistance with customizing reports and processes that allow our sales team to be more efficient.
  • Utilizing the “Sales Funnel” process we have in Salesforce, develop appropriate strategies and materials for the various stages of the funnel and implement them so that they become part of the Southern States sales culture.
  • Support the development and execution of marketing objectives by working with the Marketing team and Division management to formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies based on the established goals.
  • Manage product information and pricing in the company CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) tool to support customer proposals consistent with the Division Strategy.
  • Analyze results of all marketing activity and present findings/recommendations to VP of Corporate Marketing.
  • Conduct marketing surveys on current products and new product concepts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field of study.
  • Experience: At least one year of related marketing experience.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, and sales techniques.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards of services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and training skills.
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office and the Adobe Suite of Products
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with staff at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Marketing or a related field of study.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of related marketing experience.
  • Two or more years of relevant product management/marketing experience.
  • Experience working with Salesforce.
  • Experience working with WordPress
  • Experience creating technical content.
