Current Measurement Device (CMD®II)

Non-Contact Current Transformer

Enhance Your Smart Grid

A non-contact current transformer measures three-phase current at line voltages to protect power systems and to provide critical real-time information to protection relays and power system operators via SCADA. Its design utilizes line mounted sensors to measure line currents and deliver real-time point on wave current measurements. With no solid insulation to ground, the CMD® II  current measuring device is more reliable than freestanding current transformers, and is less costly and less space consuming.

Smart Transmission Line Tap

Additionally the CMD® II can be applied on switches outside the substation environment to revolutionized the speed transmission line customers are restored to service. The Smart Grid initiative has over looked this need but a solution is now available.
