Five students were recently awarded the 2012 Southern States Engineering, Science, & Arts Scholarship in the amount of $1000 each.  The scholarships were presented in a brief ceremony at the Henry County School Board meeting on June 11. Receiving the scholarships (l-r with certificates in hand) are Courtney Edler from Luella High School, Katherine Delisle from Woodland High School, Alexander Bryant from Woodland High School, and Grace Catherine Chambers from Union Grove High School.  Destiny Nieves from Stockbridge High School also received the scholarship but was unable to attend the ceremony.  Others in the picture include the students’ parents and Southern States’ representatives Marlin Gilbert and Shelly Anand.
